The NBXL and Expo City Dubai signed a team naming rights partnership, marking an important milestone in the league's development in Dubai.

Through the partnership, one of NBXL's four league-owned teams carries the city's identity - connecting the league's global vision with one of the world's most innovative destinations. 

The partnership represents more than a team name.  It reflects NBXL's commitment to building meaningful relationships in the communities and destinations where the league operates.

NBXL is an independent global destination professional basketball league — bringing players from around the world together under one league, on one court, while giving Every(ONE) front-row access through its fully direct-to-fan network — with a tour-based model that extends the game beyond the season.

NBXL was officially established in 2020, but its foundation began more than a decade earlier through the NJ-Pros. From competing in professional basketball leagues across the United States to expanding internationally and launching The Pros Brand, every chapter helped shape what NBXL would become.

The original vision connected the United States and the Middle East through one professional basketball league. It was built around bringing players, fans, and cultures together through basketball.

As the league continued to evolve, one lesson became clear: the future of professional basketball could not depend on any single region.

Recent geopolitical events reinforced that reality. Rather than changing the vision, it confirmed the importance of building a league that is resilient, adaptable, and capable of operating globally regardless of geopolitical events.

That evolution transformed NBXL into an independent global destination professional basketball league—built around one flagship summer season in Dubai, followed by year-round global exhibition tours that extend the NBXL experience around the world.

The evolution also reshaped the league’s identity.

• NJ-Pros remains the league’s founding team, honoring the journey that started it all.

• Expo City Dubai Innovators continues as part of the historic Expo City Dubai Team Naming Rights Partnership, which remains fully intact.

• The original American Basketball Club and United Middle East Basketball Club were rebranded as UNITED (UTD) and INTL, representing a league built around global participation rather than regional identity.

Dubai remains the home of NBXL’s flagship summer season—not because the league belongs to one region, but because it offers one of the world’s safest, most connected, and most accessible destinations for bringing the global basketball community together.

Today, NBXL is positioned as an independent global destination professional basketball league, combining elite competition, destination experiences, global tours, and direct-to-fan media through one connected platform.
